Round 1 Breakdown

We will soon find out who is the real deal and in the hunt for a King of Kickball title. Who are the contenders? Who are the pretenders? Let's find out!

Play in Game: Balls & Dolls v.s Suisliders
Although the Suisliders always play tough they still don't have the experience to hang with a veteran team like the Balls & Dolls. This play-in game is merely a formality for the Balls & Dolls. They should be able to easily win this game. The questions is how this game will affect their readiness for their 9pm match-up against a rebounding Drunken Monkeyz team.

Toss-Up Games
These are the games to watch Wednesday night as they can go either way:

The Party Pandas v.s the Chilez Y Chilindrinas should be a close match-up. The Pandas are the veteran squad, but C&C might catch them off guard. Experience tells you to give the edge to the more veteran team, but as they say, "Any Given Wednesday". #2 I'd Hit It will be keeping a close eye on this game as they will be playing the winner in the next round.

Drippin Wet Posse v.s the Billy Bad Asses should be most contested game of the night. It will be played with a dense fog of "this is just for fun", but don't be fooled. Both teams would love nothing more than to grab a W and move onto to the next round. The prize for grabbing this win will be a dinner date with big time Kickin' N' Screamin in round 2.

New Kicks on the Block v.s. One More Shot is turning from a toss up game into a win for the New Kicks. However, you never can tell with New Kicks. They love up or down to their competition, in this case, down. One More Shot is fighting and up hill battle in this match-up.

In The Bag
The following games are a done deal. Early round mis-matches with the results pretty much predetermined.

The Shockers v.s. Suck My Kick should be over quickly. Although my confidence in the Shockers crew as a true kickball contender is very limited, Im confident enough to know they will make short work of the very inexperienced Suck My Kick kiddos. Maybe next season kickballers.

Kixxx v.s Balls of Fury is another easily predictable result. Don't get me wrong, the Balls of Fury played well within their division. However they will be facing a much more talented and experienced kickball team. Their only chance is if Kixxx happens to be playing on our of their momentum down slopes, which may be a possibility, but very unlikely. Kixxx wants away from this one with a win.

Living on a Prayer
The Drunken Monkeyz will be living on a prayer waiting to see who comes out of the Suisliders v.s Balls & Dolls match-up. For the Monkeyz sake the better hope the Suisliders finds a way to upset the Bs&Ds, because last two times the Monkeyz tangled with the Balls & Dolls they wound up on the losing side both times. However the Monkeyz have been rebounding lately so they should make a strong showing this post season, even without a pitcher. My gut tells me the Monkeyz grind out a win either way, but the Balls & Dolls continuously prove me wrong so we will see.

BS&DS rolled even with the help of the umps for the other two squads. Shocker vs B&D rematch looks exciting! Winning team makes the ship again.... Just watch! Onlooking spectator so no offense to the other team's. KnS or Kixx will be there too!

Bs and Ds beating Suisliders 1-0, on a a bad call from the ump is not what I would call rolling. Good job on the Drunken Monkeys though.

I always hear excuses from this guy Jesse.. you guys finished 1-7 there must be a reason other than the refs.. don't let it come down to the refs, anyways u all did not score, even with the refs bad call u all need to score to win a playoff game.. in the end it was your fault not the refs

Barely got on all season score was 0 to 0get and yes we did finish 1 and 7then but we did shoe up all season who are you at least I post my name, and yes we needed to score but the one score they for came on the 4th with a person who was tagged out in first, the ref couldn't see it and he ended up going on to another base because when the ball hit him it flew to the outfield. He got the only score.

Well to be honest I gotta agree with anonymous Jesse. U can't let one call by an ump decide your game, they just can't see EVERYTHING. It's tough being an ump or field judge. So if he didn't see the ball hit the runner, he can't call him out. Same thing last season, I field judged ur game, and you tied the game, then you blamed me for ur tie, u gotta stop doing that. Just like many people say and ask anyone, if you start blaming umps, then YOU did something wrong in that game. I've been on the short end of the stick plenty of times, and I mean numerous calls in one game, but it just fuels my team to play harder the remainder of the game, and we always end up with a W. Hopefully you all come back next season.

You can never be a contender by complaining. Current and past champions have overcame those calls that's why they're champs... Preach brother Rick preach! We all get those calls and you know that. I can vouch for Rick and every pitcher in this league... Johnny Effen Five!!!

I have to agree with Rick also. The simple fact is if ONE call makes or breaks a team, then the team simply didn't do enough to win that game.

Good calls or bad calls, it's all part of the game. I agree with Rick on the whole umpire thing too. I've also been on the short end of the stick, but at the same time Ive also been on the lucky side too. And Ive umped a ton of games, sometimes you miss things. That is why you never leave it up to the officials. If that means having to do extra, then so be it. Its all part of the game

Thanks for the motivation, and I agree we couldn't finish it up! To many close games on our side and we end with a L instead of the W. Looking forward to next season, believe we have learned from this and the past and look to finish when it comes to it. Young team in need of leadership, like someone said in the blog a while ago to many chiefs not enough indians. I believe once we settle that we can be contenders, like I said we had close games with good teams and couldn't finish it. Love my team and I believe finishing like this has motivated us to be better!
